Description: Earthwork Foreman

  • Supervisor who plans, assigns, schedules and supervises the work of hourly crew members
  • Responsible for crew safety by ensuring all crew members wear and utilize appropriate PPE, conducts weekly tool box safety meetings, participates in site safety inspections, and completes daily Job Hazard Analysis Forms
  • Instructs and trains employees in the safe and efficient operation of construction equipment and job techniques
  • Ensures quality of the work being performed
  • Takes necessary steps to prevent theft and vandalism of Company property
  • Prepare accurate time and quantity reports
  • Responsible for the morale and attitude of the crew

Work Experience / Skills / Abilities:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Thorough knowledge of dirt excavating practices, and equipment used in heavy civil construction
  • Ability to interpret and work from plans, sketches and blue prints
  • Ability to communicate and supervise the work of others
  • Ability to keep records and prepare work and time reports
  • A working knowledge of GPS rovers and machine control
  • Bi-Lingual skills (Spanish) a plus

Description: Earthwork Superintendent

  • Daily on-site management of Earthwork, Excavation, Fine grading and dirt removal projects
  • Manage multiple foremen and crews including equipment operators, grade checkers, laborers etc.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of all subcontractors related to the work
  • Ensure project schedules are being carried out accordingly
  • Prepare and participate in cost analysis and project reviews
  • Maintain a safe work environment and instilling a culture of safety within crews
  • Prepare accurate documentation related to job site activities (i.e. safety logs, daily reports, safety audits, etc.)

 Work Experience / Skills / Abilities:

  • Minimum 10 years in civil construction experience
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
  • Ability to read construction drawings, specifications and project schedules
  • Able to work independently and prioritize assignments and responsibilities
  • Good computer and people skills
  • Bi-Lingual skills (Spanish) a plus
